Owner at Seal Swimming
Simon Easton is a passionate advocate for high-quality swim education and water safety, with over two decades of experience in the aquatics industry.
Originally from the south-west of England, Simon began his journey in aquatics as a competitive swimmer in Devon and Somerset. He started teaching and coaching part-time while in college and was later promoted to Assistant Manager of his local swim program. In 2003, Simon spent a transformative year backpacking through South America before relocating to Toronto in early 2004.
Soon after arriving in Canada, Simon joined the Boys and Girls Club of West Scarborough, where he rose to the position of Aquatic Director. There, he led grant-writing and fundraising initiatives that enabled over 10,000 local children to access school-hour swimming lessonsβan achievement that speaks to his deep belief in equity and community impact.
In 2009, Simon founded the Seal Swim Club in response to a Toronto District School Board Trusteeβs call for support to save the W.A. Porter Collegiate swimming pool from closure. What began as a grassroots effort evolved into Seal Swimming, formally incorporated in 2016 as Simon Easton Aquatics Ltd. (SEAL).
Simonβs expertise spans teaching, coaching, nonprofit leadership, program development, and industry advocacy. He has pioneered recreational swim meets for non-sanctioned teams, created innovative training programs, and led Seal Swimmingβs growth as a respected swim school in Ontario. His professional development includes certifications and leadership training from Swim England, the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), Swim Smooth, and Maxwell Leadership, across Canada, the UK, the US, and Australia.
A long-standing member and supporter of the Canadian Swim School Alliance (CSSA), Simon brings a unique blend of operational experience, strategic vision, and unwavering dedication to the industry. His work is guided by a mission to make swimming a lifelong, life-saving skill that is accessible to allβregardless of background or ability.
